Drawing from life at WWT Barnes

The pivotal moment in my artistic development was meeting the late David Boys (Slade, RCA) who encouraged my "drawing from life" at London Zoo. Although my degree is in sculpture, and I had worked both in Italy and the film industry, I have always drawn animals.

I have shown my work in all the major national wildlife exhibitions and in 2009 was short-listed for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year.

Recently, I have been working closely with the Great Bustard Group (www.greatbustard.org) and the International Turaco Society (www.turacos.org).

In 2008, I discovered that I love teaching! I teach wildlife art workshops to all ages and stages from primary through to adult education, including young offenders.

Favourite venues apart from WWT Barnes, which is on my doorstep, are Andover Hawk Conservancy, Cotswold Wildlife Park, British Wildlife Centre and of course ZSL in London and Whipsnade.
